Dr. Archer has been a licensed psychologist since 1997. She attended the University of Miami, where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology (Minor in Biology), and her Masters of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy degrees in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in Children. Dr. Archer completed her internship at the Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado, and her residency at the Juvenile Assessment Center here in Miami-Dade County.
While still in graduate school, Dr. Archer began working in the Dependency Court where she was part of a team that completed court ordered psychological evaluations on parents, children, and legal custodians for the purposes of making recommendations as to the best interests of the children. She continued working in area after she graduated ultimately expanding her experience to criminal court and family court. Today, she is routinely appointed to complete court ordered evaluations, act as a Guardian ad Litem to children, and to provide therapeutic services. Dr. Archer has testified in hundreds of cases, frequently presents at professional training seminars, and is routinely accepted as an expert in her field. She is highly respected by Judges and throughout the legal and professional community.
More recently, Dr. Archer returned to the University of Miami where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is now employed in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse, and continues to work as a psychologist in her own private practice office located in Coral Gables.
Dr. Archer was born and raised overseas. As such, not only is she fluently bilingual in Spanish, but her background and experience has also resulted in her being particularly sensitive and respectful of the different cultures and religious beliefs that are often seen among the diverse background of clients in the South Florida area.
